The new moon @ Aquarius 20-21 heralds commencement of the Year of the Wood Dragon 2024.
Electrifying Uranus is the dispositor – meaning, the moon possesses the disposition of Uranus.
Studying the chart drawn for the new year as the time bomb counter clocks in @ 12 midnight in hotbed D.C. – Scorpio is the ascendant.
Therefore, Pluto is the fixed chart ruler with the four fixed signs – Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus and Leo – affixed to the four angles of the chart – AC, IC, DC and MC – respectively.
Pluto in Capricorn plunged the cesspool backup during his recent revelatory Pluto Return in the USA birth chart.
I’ve written countless times before, when the bull stampedes the China Shoppe, the aftermath blowback is oftentimes worse than the actual blitzkrieg.
This is no exception since the Aquarius new moon squares Uranus in staunch and steadfast Taurus.
Think: Tarot’s TOWER correlated with I Ching’s Hexagram #51 Chen, affectionately coined Thunderclap, the Arousing.
Both tokens of divination symbolize a disruptive shock to the system that serves as a wake-up call to face unsettling events and seek higher truth.
Ultimately, transformation is the seminal keyword in both instances.
Dragon represents transformation in never-ending cycles of destruction and rebirth. Wood element represents growth, adaptability and vitality.
Think: Ouroboros, the mythic dragon that eats its tail and regurgitates its head in an eternal pattern of destruction and rebirth.
Pluto and the sun both entered Aquarius 20 January.
As mentioned previously, the last time Pluto traversed thru Aquarius, “Storm the Bastille” happened.
If you recall, the Bastille was a fortress that played an integral role in the internal conflicts of the French Republic. It was also used as a state prison.
You know, come to think of it, cognitive dissonance is like a fortress – and a prison.
I bring this up because what immediately catches my eye in the Year of the Wood Dragon’s “birth” chart is Chariklo’s location at Aquarius 13’41” in the fourth house of memory, the emotional body, the root chakra – ancestry.
As it so happens, in the USA Sibly Chart – our nation’s birth chart – the third house cusp is Aquarius 13’40”.
Reminder: The astrological third house is, among other things, where intelligence, cognitive ability, how one thinks about and communicates gathered information are stored. It’s the ‘social hood of shared ideas’. Social media is a third and Aquarius-ruled eleventh house phenom.
Chariklo is the compassionate cohort – wife – of wounded healer/alchemist Chiron.
Chariklo embodies the grace, mercy and benevolence divine healing bestows.
It looks as though the mighty fortress of “cognitive dissonance” might suffer a wrecking ball event, at first.
Truth hurts.
However, some battle wounds are necessary to win the war against Good vs Evil.
“Storm the Bastille” was essentially about “Power to the (Little) People”.
Have I been hallucinating, or is this what’s been happening for the last 14 years, or so?
Another intriguing aspect about Year of the Wood Dragon is Uranus @ Taurus 19-20 conjuncts asteroid goddess Vesta in the USA Sibly Chart @ Taurus 19-20 in the chart’s sixth house.
Vesta represents “inner fire”, commitment and dedication, the balance between the sacred and profane, sublimation of sexuality toward spiritual transcendence.
Blocked Vesta energy can show where too much is given of oneself – giving with strings attached.
As venerable Joni sang – “giving to get something”.
Negative Vesta compartmentalizes sexuality to the point where sexuality and passion are unrealized. Sacred sexuality becomes incompatible with spirituality as its essence.
The astrological sixth house is traditionally the house of work, service and duty. It is where well-being and energetic disposition are stored. Challenges to the status quo and illness, too.
Sound familiar?!
The Year of the Wood Dragon will mark a pivotal period in our country’s evolution – and ultimate survival of the “American Dream”.
The thing about dreams, though – one is usually asleep.
Wood Dragon meets Water-bearer Aquarius.
“Before enlightenment: chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment: chop wood, carry water.”
